Esophageal Transepithelial Brush Biopsy Following
the CDx Diagnostics Chapter 7 Bankruptcy
Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to inform you that Sentry Laboratories can now provide neural network-assisted analysis of wide-area transepithelial samples. Sentry will analyze any samples that you have, provide you with as many new test kits as you require for your ongoing testing, and report all cases using unchanged criteria, ensuring continuity of care.
As the Laboratory Directors of CDx Diagnostics® for over a decade, we have each accumulated thousands of hours of experience analyzing WATS/WATS3D®* specimens
A wide area transepithelial tissue sample of Barrett’s metaplasia is a cross between cytology and histology and is quite unlike any other specimen in anatomic pathology. Drawing on years of clinical experience evaluating morphological and immunohistochemical findings across hundreds of thousands of these unique specimens, we are pleased to continue applying our professional experience and expertise for the benefit of you and your patients.
In addition, Dr. Mark Rutenberg, who pioneered the application of neural networks to pathology and developed WATS3D, is on the Sentry Board and provides technical consultation, along with Dr. Drore Eisen who designed the WATS3D protocols that resulted in its inclusion in the ASGE Standard of Practice guidelines.
Please contact Sentry client relations at clientrelations@sentrylaboratories.com. They will provide you with all of the materials required to ship any specimens to us that may have been returned to you because of the CDx shutdown and also provide as many new Sentry test kits as you require for your use going forward.
We look forward to continuing to work with you to help protect your Barrett’s patients from the possibility of missed dysplasia due to biopsy sampling error.
Sincerely,

Dr. Frank Fromowitz
Laboratory Director
